Ecotourist
Who we are?
We are responsible travelers taking responsible trip, which can benefit us, the destination, the indigenous community and the environment. We aim to bring good change to the place we set foot on. We like the following things:
1. We are more attracted by destination with natural view or fewer tourists.
2. We crave for new and unique experience, including exotic, historical and cultural adventures.
3. We refuse mass tourism - a spoon-feed type of travel.
4. We prefer to talk to the locals, learning their habits, beliefs and hearing their stories.
5. We appreciate local food, no matter how weird they are.
6. We seek to understand the locals by living with them, no matter how uncomfortable it can be.
7. We follow the local rules and regulations to minimize our impacts as tourists.
8. We are willing to pay the locals for their service, which we believe will turn to an economic incentive for conservation of the natural environment.
9. We strongly refuse to collect wildlife, and wild plants for souvenirs.
10. We like to hire guides especially in protected areas for better conservation.
11. We practice "Garbage in - garbage out" principle.
12. We would like to purchase locally, and eat at locally owned and operated restaurants that use produce grown in the area.
13. We value the destination ecologically and economically.
14. We are engaged in ecotourism and promote the same principles to others.
