Semuc Champey
Semuc Champey is a hidden paradise, a rare beauty with fewer tourists. It is located in the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, only 80 miles from the village where we will stay. It is made of numerous limestone bridges and caves interwoven with the Cabahón River. Over the years, the limestone and the river have caused tiered pools to form that resemble an imagined lost paradise. A day trip to Semuc Champey offers tourists a hike to the viewpoint with relaxing swimming in the amazing pools, exciting explorations of a natural cave, and authentic river tubing.
